As you may have seen from my other post I won a mint black and polished rocker cover. My questions are: 1. How much for a rocker cover gasket?? 2. I want to put new shiny rocker cover bolts on with it. What size do I need to get? Cheers oh knowledgeable ones! :D :bmwdance: :Daryll Dyson: |

Personally, I wouldn't use a non-gen cambox gasket again. I put one on when I did the top overhaul a few weeks ago. It doesn't fit properly, wrong shape and it's leaking. :( I've got a BMW one and am going to change it (and have another go at the valve clearances!) Friday. When I collect it, I'll post-up how much it is, and the part number. IIRC, I've seen nice shiney nuts or bolts on fleaGay. HTH Stuart. |

Be careful with those domed nuts, the studs in the head are normally too long, you will have to fit some washers to take up the space on the stud first. |

So I need to get the rocker cover gasket from BMW not ECp and I should give the rocker nuts and bolts on ebay a swerve? |

It sounds that way!! Just pop tot he dealers, and order the gasket, and when you're there, order the nuts needed too, if you're ignition lead cover/tidy is broken, order a new one of these at the same time, they're not expensive, and really tidy up an old or broken or maybe a missing one. |

Cheers Simon, I'll do that. My ignition lead cover is one of the only things intact at the moment so I'm ok there. What I might do though is by the new nuts, bolts and washers etc for the rocker cover and have them chrome plated or polished before I fit the new cover. Plenty of firms round here that should be able to do that for me. :bmwdance: |
