Errr yeah T-Cutt!!!

Nothing else I have ever tried can touch T-cut! Although my Autoglym super resin polish does a pretty good job on scratches too to be honest.

sorry to disagree but i hate tcut

its so much hard work and it really dosent leave a car looking wow imo

theres def a lot of much better products out there now

but also remember that tcut isnt a polish its more a crap remover etc

try meguirs etc or some of the american detailing polishes if your wanting a deep wet lasting shine

That'll be you Daz....your probably using a scouring pad or something. In the 20 years I have been using it I have never had a problem using T-cut, never.
I always do one panel at a time, leave it for 3 or 4 minutes and then buff off.
I've actually gotta do mine this weekend as it happens and I am looking forward to it.! :bmwdance:

i have tried to remove the scratches with the t-cut but have had no luck

if they are too deep for t-cut mate you might need to use g3 and a polishing mop (if you aint done it before get someone to show you how as its easy to burn straight through to the metal if you dont what you are doing)

ive had to mop mine a few times to get it back fron pink to red

dont know why i typed all that mate as i wouldnt bother doing you drivers door or wing anyway :spit:

only jokeing mate

i would say take it to a body shop they can look at it 4 you, the other thing you could try is if your car is red they do a red t-cut thats good, (they do all colours)

i use 3M products and an orbital polisher

orbital +fine cutting compound (on wetted pannel) wash off, then finishing glaze (on wetted pannel!)

then finnish off with a good wash with warm water

and then a paint sealer (silicone) on wetted pannel

let dry and then obital with polish mitt to buff

then finally a microfiber for small details

takes 4-5 hours if u do it all like a freak (like me) but the results ... well ;)

Doesnt t-cut just scratch off the top layer of paint? (surely nobody wants to do this?). It must ruin the paint if you do it too often? (Feel free to correct me!)

Paul

technically yes and no,

on flat colours (brilliantrot for ex.) there isnt a top lacquer. so the paint fades and bleaches in the sun if not protected

generally metallics get a good smothering of clear to bring up the shine, as metalics are actually quite matt in appearence

top coat / paint sealer is a silicone compound that bonds to the surface of the paint, and essentially locks the surface over with a sealing agent. 3-6 months is avarage life expectancy for st

wax, (carnauba) forms a hard shell over the paint, and diffuses in some cases U V light preserving the life of the paint. will disolve in time , but constant aplication will build thicker and in effect , stronger barriers againts damage

polishes, compounds allow the top layer of the paint to be "cleansed" by removing a microscopicly thin layer of the paint / clear coat / wax or sealer. depending on how often or how intense (machine polisher) it is used, determins how much surface material is removed.

Always seal the paint after a compound clean, this is when the paint is at its most naked, and will be damaged most easily. Many polishes have sealers in them, so its not such a headache

then a wax to protect even further and bring out the shine

t,cut will only damage your paint if you are too animal with it, but dont go too big an area at a time, as its a bastrad to get off when its dried out totally.
