Right Chaps.
My next project is going to be DIY fitting LPG to the Touring. Allegedly, petrol is going to be £1.00/ltr - possibly more - by late summer, so now's the time to do it.
TBH, I wish I'd seen the light years ago.
I know one member (Johnna) is interested, but he's only 5 miles away from me so he can see for himself if necessary.
Is anyone else interested in a write-up, maybe some photo's? I don't really have the time, but if there is genuine interest I will do it for you. No interest = no write-up = time better spent for me.
Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Right, the kit is on order.
Gordon Finlay down in Devon will be supplying it.
More details to follow when it arrives.

On your car, and if you want to be able to still use petrol, you will loose a small amount of power Mart, but it wouldn't be that noticable if you use a good quality LPG system.

Gordon's been in touch to say he has all the bits of the kit ready to dispatch now.
I just have one more small query with him and should have an exact final price tomorrow. It's going to be £670-£700 delivered.
Hopefully then it will just be a case of getting someone to weld the lambda probe boss into the exhaust and getting it certified & set-up. That should be £70 max.

Final price.....
£672 delivered. It's allegedly got some trick bits included that won't be available much longer.
If anyone else is genuinely interested, I can give you an introduction to my supplier. He's a top man, I can't recommend him highly enough.

Hi all! im a newbee and cont believe ive only just stumbled onto this site!
Ihave two of my BMWs on LPG and a lot of my previous cars too.
Will never go back- the advantages are so many; longevity and btu's to name two!
My E30 uses a stainless steel tank, to put the 'heavy tanks' argument to rest. It weighs about 2+kg...
I have a "jerry can'. to put the 'run out of fuel' myth to rest..

I love it .
I am only using the mixer type carby on my 2.3, and because i have removed that :snigger: airflow meter, have lost no power-if not gained- and the sound on WOT is glorious!

Not to mention the LPG over here is below half the price of petrol, AND the local government are offering rebates on lpg kits to the value of$2000!!! :woohoo:
So now my wifes & E21 are on gas too.
Performance isnt lost if you design the motor from petrol to gas.
I can give sites that have done camparisons and performance and longevity surveys.
My favourite is the Test done on a Delivery truck in US- did 300,00mileson pure lpg, pulled down the engine, and it still had the hone marks in the bore!No sign of wear. Put it back together and got a further 200,00miles before the fist set of rings were fitted...
i could ramble on all day,but i have LPG EFI to drool over :bmwdance:
