My heated rear screen has never worked and I would like it to work now.

The switch lights up and thats it !!

Now then, which fuse is it as my Haynes is poor for this :fogey: cant understand the pics.

1986, 316, carb auto .

( I now know why it came with a tow bar, its for the bloody Gas tanker it drags along behind it   )

Mart, use test-lamp to check for power at the 'screen.
What you need to do is.......

1) Determine which connection on the 'screen is feed and which is earth.
2) Check for 12v at both connections. If you have 12v at one side and not the other, the 'screen is duff.
3) If you have 12v at both sides, you need to check the earth point. As the 'screen draws a lot of current, a good earth is essential for it to work.
4) If the earth is fine, you have to go back to the relay and check that out.

I don't know which fuse you need, but pull them all - one at a time - and see if any are blown. IIRC, the rear screen fuse should be a 30a one.

I'd probably check behind the switch first Mart, once, when changing a stereo, i'd managed to pull the plug out the back of the switch, so maybe give that a go too.
