Best thing to do is strip out your window and winder mech (seems scary but actually easy to do) mech and have a look inside the door - that way you'll have a good idea of how it goes together. is it the door lock or the central locking that isn't working? |

As I said, strip the window and winder mech out, get a torch and have a good look round - the key barrel sits in a plate which is part of the door lock. there is a microswitch which activates the central locking attached to the plate as well. any or all of these could be your problem. Also, it is possible that your central locking control unit is part or fully fried thus sending stupid signals around the system. Unplug the door loom and see if that makes any difference to the locking. then do the brianmoore red/black wire thing (on t'other place). then plug the loom back in and see if anything happens. |

on the door lock there is a spring lever that locks the locks then goes over centre when you do the dead locks. On mine the spring had lost its bite. the symptom was it would go to the dead lock position too easy it would lock then unlock itself. new lock barrel was fairly easy to fit. didnt need to drop the window mechanism out either.
