Right im no expert but im trying to use my 360 to its full potential so i thought id write some tutorials on what i do to it first off i will start with hooking up your 360 to a pc monitor for the members who do not own a hd tv this should give you better picture quality than that of a non digital tv. Ok first off you will need to buy a few things: 1. a xbox 360 VGA HD cable (i got my official xbox one from GameStation for £4.99 preowned) 2. A 15 pin female to female VGA gender changer £7.99 from Maplins (product code is L5OBT) or click HERE 3. a 3.5mm Jack to Twin Phono Socket (this is only if you did not buy the official microsoft cable) Maplins again click HERE 4. a 3.5mm stereo coupler again i got mine from Maplins click HERE ![]() Right first off take your monitor cable out of the back of your pc (pictured below) ![]() Then take your 15 pin female to female VGA gender and connect it to your monitor cable ![]() then connect your Xbox 360 VGA HD cable to the other end of your gender changer ![]() then plug the other end of the Xbox 360 VGA HD cable into the back of your Xbox 360 ![]() right were nearly there now you need to connect the two audio leads ![]() to the 3.5mm Jack to Twin Phono Socket ![]() then connect your 3.5mm stereo coupler to the 3.5mm Jack to Twin Phono Socket ![]() then remove your pc speaker socket from the back of your pc and connect it to the other end of your 3.5mm stereo coupler.(if you do not have this type of speakers then you can buy a cheap set from either ebay argos or any electronic retailer) ![]() then boot your xbox 360 and you should see the 360 start up screen go on to your dashboard and move the pages all the way to the right to system and click on console settings then display then screen resolution and set it to 1280x1024. and thats it put in your game and play

Right next up is the towel trick if like me your 360 suffer's from the single flashing red light and the E74 error screen then try this as it might work it does for me all the time. Warning this may damage your Xbox 360 im am giving this as a guide i will not be held responsible if you damage your Xbox 360 while attempting this right this is a good sign that your 360 is about to suffer from the single red flashing light your screen will look similar or worse to the pic below.it should have a green tinge to it and be pixelated ![]() then as any normal person would you try to reset the system and see this on your screen ![]() and this on your console ![]() dont worry all may not be as bad as it looks right first off take off your Xbox 360 hdd if you have one and remove any memory cards extra fans wireless adapters ![]() all that should be plugged in to your 360 is the power cable and the video out cable nothing else ![]() right grab 3 or 4 towels and start wrapping up the console making sure the back is covered and the front is not also making sure the two cables are stil connected.so it looks something like the pic below ![]() right depending on how well you wrapped it up after about 10-20 mins you should see 2 red flashing lights like below ![]() then all you do is let the console cool down for about 45 mins and reconnect all cables and accessories you removed and power it up it should then be fixed if it happens again just repeat in my next installment i will show you how to play your media through your xbox 360 |

yeah i think it's cool mate, never knew about plugging it into pc monitor! Luckily enough i've got a HD telly in my living room, so i play it on that, it's a 32" but i want a 50" now. The missus isn't quite so keen on the idea though :( |
