Lifting the Lid - Bonnet Release Broken

So,
how do I open the bonnet catch,
if the lever thing isn't doing the busness?

Using a long thin bladed screwdriver , theres a hole in the drivers grille which you insert the driver and do something in there. Either you push or twist I cant remember but its in that area.

Damn, I'm not sure how the bonnet release works on E30's, I've had that problem with other cars, but their bonnets all opened the "normal" way round, so it was easy enough to do from the front with a screwdriver.

mart was nearly right lol

long thin screwdriver thru the front grille on the passenger side

get a torch and youll see a round hole behind the grille near the centre grille piece
as he said push screwdriver into the hole and give it a clockwise twist and your bonnet cathc will release and the bonnet will pop up, job done

If I can get in, I'll make a video clip of the car running, revving, and maybe even moving.
