Perhaps if people got flyers on their windshields traffic will pick up. 2. Maybe we can have an internal contest of how many members brought in to the community. 3. Admins, maybe a bit more work done on sponsorships. (I guess that'll come when we prove we have activity) 4. Maybe some pictures of meets, or even just of e30's you see around. 5. This is of course PLANET e30 how about regional admins, who could direct traffic and promote the forum locally You brits should be used to a structure like #5, the sun never sets on the empire! mwahhahaha I dunno people I am just throwing out ideas! edit .... I think the best way to get activity on here is to delete The Zone. I haven't been there in ages, presumably it's still massive. Short of doing that, perhaps integrate the Planet forum with another E30 site without a forum. What's the USA's biggest E30 site? Does it have a forum? Last suggestion, please donate to my E30 restoration project. I'll put planetE30 stickers on it, drive it around, and do lots of advertising. Even people who aren't interested in cars will want to sign up. Worth a try.

It's not illegal here in NY, that how we got the world out about our meets initially. Though I am on this side of the pond for about two more weeks. (look up cars & coffee in sag harbor, ny on facebook) There are lots and lots of e30's drving around here where I live. Most of them are weekend cars, or old people driving but they are around. I saw no less than 8 different ones coming back from the post office this afternoon. its not illegal globally, maybe we can get some of the other members to distribute flyers. In the US, there are two major e30 sites; e30tech and r3vlimited. There is a regional site that's pretty active on the west coast called socale30 and on the east coast there is s14.net which is strictly for e30 m3. And of course there is bimmerforums... Stickers are great publicity tools, do we have any templates? I know I can get some activity directed to here on my side, but we have to have something to show and something to keep them here. Zone is overrated and crowded, this is planete30 not 'the other uk site'. We shouldn't postion ourselves in direct opposition to zone. I think a little re-vamp with input from current members will do wonders and though we may not siphon users from the zone exclusively for ourselves nevertheless, there will be users who signed up for multiple forums. Depending on our community, it'll be that that'll determine whether people continue to browse, chat, post repeatedly. edit...I really really like the globe juxtaposed against the roundel in white as the home image...that would be an awesome sticker! I am going to print it out and see what I can do around here. Maybe I can get some stickers made. I think the focus should be E30....maybe e21--> e36 sub forums since a lot of parts are interchangeable. I'll pm you regarding some ideas for the site.

Recently I've been wanting an E34 (they're cheaper to insure than the E30) and then I think about a nice Alpinweiss E39, then maybe why not a 7 Series, maybe an Alpina... and so on. The E34 had the same M20 engine, so that's like the first point of branching out. Then maybe the E21, being the other classic 3 Series (cause the E30 and E36 are very different) and from there, maybe the classic 7 series of the era. You could branch out as much as you like, maybe not even keep it BMW, the Porsche 924 is also an affordable 80s German sports coup�...

I had this idea yesterday, pick up on a car that's brand-fucking-new. Set up a forum for the Aston Martin Cygnet, buy the domain "amlcygnet.co.uk" for a few quid, set it up as a redirect straight to the forum. You don't have to give a shite about the Cygnet itself, or whatever car you choose, you can just be th webmaster, and appoint those with the knowledge as moderators. I'm tempted to do this myself, but I'd rather do it as a kind of partnership, if you're interested.
